Teaching in Prison: A Personal Story

Working in a prison is something that few teachers consider while they are studying.  Even experienced teachers rarely make a conscious choice to become a prison educator.

The reasons why teachers become prison educators are varied, with no two careers following the same path.

Attached below is a PDF copy of the story of one Western Australian prison educator.

Besides being an interesting (and familiar) read, this teacher has posed some questions about the attributes necessary to make a good corrections educator.

Follow the link below by clicking on the PDF icon.  Read the story and complete the questions.

You may like to print a copy of the PDF so that you can fill your answers in.
